As the dust settles from Steve’s latest presentation we are left with what everyone was expectinng - a 3G iPhone. With all the bells and whistles out on the table, I leave you with nine things missing from this latest announcement. I’m not saying these features have been left out or will never be included - I just wish they were included.
(If they were announced and I missed it let me know in the comments).
What features are missing from the 3G iPhone?
What do you think is missing? Let us know in the comments.

“Bezos says he is “very serious” about the business; he says it is in some ways harder because there are so many participants. It has a glamor element, that attracts people; he says they are working on for-pay streaming service that will be unveiled in a few weeks; will start instantly, a la carte for pay”
“Bezos on the Roku/Netflix movie streaming box: My own guess is that separate boxes are an immediate step, and that streaming capabilities will be built directly into television sets.”
This is interesting to hear from Mr. Bezos. I knew they’d be offering a streaming service at some point but I thought it would be in association with Netflix. Apparently they will be doing this on their own. Hmm did someone I know call a la carte tv awhile ago? Ahh yes, it was me.
I also agree with his thoughts on the future of IPTV along with the current trend of set top boxes. Devices like the Roku player with Netflix streaming capabilities are an intermediary step (yes, I did order one) to televisions with built in streaming capabilities. I love HP’s tv(s) with a Media Center Extender (HP Media Smart TV) built right as well and see that as a possible avenue as it links the web to the tv with an extendable interface.

It seems that AT&T has not only cannabilized their other products because of the iPhone - but also their other subscribers.

If you haven’t heard, Google has bought Jaiku - the Finland-based mobile IM and presence company - which happens to be the direct competitor to Twitter.
I won’t go into the details of why Jaiku over Twitter because that really doesn’t matter at this point.
What I do want to discuss is how Google will integrate this service. Nathan and I had a brief discussion today (ironically via twitter) on Google’s *secret* plans for Jaiku.
My guess? Tight integration with the Google Phone.
Any bets?
If you think like me you must naturally take the next step into what this inevitable integration really means. They said it best over at Loose Wire:
“All this information outlined above would be available to Google, to let them fire ads at us. For the first time, as far as I know, an advertising company not only has access to what we’re doing (our presence message), they have access to where we’re doing it (the cell ID etc), what we’re doing next (the calendar), how long we’ll be doing it for (the duration of the event), whether we’re focused on something else (indication of whether we’re on a call), as well as the usual preferences we may have registered in our profile (gender, age, interests, etc.)”
Oh, and not to mention what we search for (Google Search), say in our IM’s and VOIP (GTalk), email to our friends (Gmail), what products we want (Froogle), and what we read (Google Reader).
Interestingly disturbing eh? Can anyone say Skynet?
