Roku Opens Up Software Development Kit…

“With the Roku Software Developer’s Kit, you too can build a channel that streams your content to the TV. The SDK gives you the tools to design a channel that excites your customers and makes sense for your business. Extend an existing web-based service, or create a channel entirely focused on TV delivery – it’s up to you.”

This is a very exciting time for the Roku. There have been a lot of discussions on the Roku forums about experimenting with the SDK and what people have accomplished already. The ability to stream local content (from my own local network) is what I am most excited about, and it is only a matter of time until it becomes a reality.

Chad – Can you shoot over some examples? I haven't had time to dig into the forums but I am very excited about the potential of the Roku being an open platform
