Texting While Driving

by Andy Brudtkuhl on August 5, 2009

Is stupid legislation that’s a waste of time…

How do you enforce it? If I got pulled over texting while driving – I’ll claim I was surfing the web :-)

I’m all for traffic safety but specific banishment is stupid. If you are going to enforce these rules – make it blanket rule. No use of mobile devices while driving would be much clearer and easier to enforce.

Thoughts?

I know its illegal in Chicago to be on a phone not connected to a headset while driving. I'm sure texting is illegal as well. I think it should all be banned personally. I'd rather not die due to some 16 year old girl hitting me cause she wasn't paying attention while she was texting her BFF about her new Prada purse she got on sale over the weekend :)

Well said. I am all for it!

You have to ban all use – not just a single function.
