Gmail Multiple Inboxes

by Andy Brudtkuhl on February 5, 2009

Wow.

Today Google announced the Gmail Multiple Inboxes feature allows you to create different views by adding panes within Gmail. For each pane you can apply a label to give you different views of your inbox. I heavily use the filters engine built in GMail so I can direct different emails direct to archive with labels to bypass my inbox. I also us GTDInbox plugin for, well, GTD. Now with the mnultiple inboxes feature I have three separate views setup: Inbox, Next Action, and Action.

I love it … more on this later…

@TJ I am loving this feature already! I’ve not tried the canned responses – but I’ve not had any problems with other Labs features..

That’s a great feature! It will make it far more easy to build structure into my gmail inbox. Thanks!

@Theo It’s working out well for me so far – especially with GTDInbox. One thing I was you could do was size the panes yourself – If this is possible let me know!
