One of the biggest reasons for our latest GetANewBrowser.com redesign was to increase engagement. Here are six WordPress plugins we are using to try to accomplish just that.
Here are some more tips for increasing your engagement on your blog:
- Follow up on comments… Don’t let the thread die
- Create content outposts
- Integrate with FriendFeed
- Produce good content (obvious, right?)
- Ask for comments, thoughts, ideas, examples
What is reader engagement? Engagement is creating a value-added
experience that your readers can participate in. If you engage your
users chances are you will get lower bounce rates, increase
subscriptions, and create great conversations.

Thank you for these new plugins. There is always more to do when it comes to reaching out and becoming more interactive. CommentLuv combined with visiting other blogs using that plug-in made a huge difference in the number of comments my blog receives.
You may want to visit the CommentLuv site and leave comments at some of the favorite blogs featured there. I’d love to see them provide more blogs in their list – or more lists – to make it easier to locate other serious bloggers or blogs in specific niches.
