Twitter now has 4-5 million users and a majority of those have joined in the last 12 months. According to the report released by HubSpot, these new users over the past 12 months have contributed to 600% growth this year. Mainstream? I’d say it’s getting there…
Here are some key findings from HubSpot’s report:
- Twitter is dominated by new users – 70% of Twitter users joined in 2008
- Five to Ten thousand new users per day
- 35% have ten or fewer followers (aka those that don’t get it)
- 9% of Twitter users follow no one at all (aka reeeally don’t get it)
