Building Community

by Andy Brudtkuhl on November 14, 2008

I have many more posts coming about building communities and how to culture hyperlocal projects. Creating and fostering community is not only a cornerstone of an effective web strategy for business, it’s a vehicle for revolutionizing media and building social connections. More on these thoughts later, but for now I want to share a couple videos discussing community building.

First up is my semi-drunken babbling at Ignite Des Moines where I discuss building hyperlocal communities online… Slides will be posted at a later date…

Our second video is from Ben Huh, who built thriving communities in I Can Has Cheesburger and a favorite of mine – The Fail Blog. This is Ben’s talk from the Future of Web Apps Expo 2008.
