So I finally buckled down today to try Safari on Windows. After a discussion with a colleague about how Apple does everything better I thought I’d see if that was true in the browser world. Safari, although residing on my Vista machine, is till very Apple-like. It has the iTunes brushed metal look. The first thing I noticed was that it was FAST and that it renders differently than its rivals. It’s much faster than IE and Firefox, although it is a fresh install and I have a dozen extensions and plugins running on Firefox. It also has the familiar tabbed browsing interface. All in all it’s worth checking out.

Makes you want that Mac doesn’t it!! :)
If I didn’t have to sell my car to get one I’d definitely buy one :)
haah yes yes… that hits home
I love almost everything about Safari for Windows, except these three things:
a). I badly miss tool tips in Safari.
b). After heavily using Firefox for 3+ yrs, I’ve become used to “Ctrl + Enter” command. Why doesn’t Safari support this?
c). Why won’t the pics show up when I save ‘em using the “Save Picture As” context menu option? :/ I’ve tried three or four times (.png) and the pics just won’t appear in the Windows Explorer. :S
(a) and (c) force me to return back to Firefox, SeaMonkey or Opera.
Interesting comments. I haven’t used it as a main browser so I’m not sure of the quirks.
One thing it lacks – extensions. I cannot live without my Firefox Web Developer Toolbar.
I searched on google and I had a hard time located the right info….until I found your blog.
