Do you care about the Google YouTube deal?

by Andy Brudtkuhl on October 10, 2006

I don’t. And I really hate tech junkie regurgitation. I’m surprised the blogoshpere didn’t burst into flames with all this shit hitting the fan. I told myself I wouldn’t write about this but I couldn’t resist. Do we benefit from 66,000 posts about this deal? No. Will this effect my life in any way? No. I didn’t make any money of this so I really could care less. Thanks for wasting my time.

I like how some of them tried to attract attention by writing “creative” titles.

I figured I was OK by speculating on the story rather than just regurgitating the news (I don’t read any of those blogs so I actually heard it first from Reddit), but if I had known it was going to be so common across the blogosphere I might have avoided it altogether.

I’m not saying every post is crap but it is so hard to find original posts with thoughtful analysis when there are soo many posts to wade through.

Many of the posts that I waded through simply relayed what Google’s official press release stated. I read that, so I dont want to again.

I want to know what people think the strategy is or how Google will integrate YouTube into its advertising model.
