From Reuters:
“NEW YORK (Reuters) – Some of Apple Computer Inc.’s iPod digital music players shipped in the past month carry a computer virus, according to a posting on Apple’s technical support Web site.
Apple said since September 12, less than 1 percent of Video iPods — pocket-sized devices that can play music files and video clips — left its contract manufacturer carrying the virus RavMonE.exe, which affects computers running Microsoft Corp.’s Windows operating system.”
Coincidence this only affects Microsoft Windows? Dun dun dun dun…….
I’ll tell ya what – I can’t wait to get my Zune!

Interesting article but I can’t help but be drawn to your ‘About’ blurb: “We aren’t here to regurgitate news”.
Clever. Sorry didn’t have time for “insightful meaning” this morning before work.
I simply wanted to note the coincidence that this affects only Microsoft Windows from iPods that have come out of the factory since the announcement of the Zune.
I didn’t read that in the Reuter’s article, did you? Didn’t think so.
Thanks for the comment.
Heh, I know. I’m just giving you a hard time. ;-) I’m actually surprised there haven’t been more virii, intentional or not.
I figure there is virii (most likely through Windows) that has targeted the iPod.
What surprises me is that this came from units straight out of production, which had to made its way on there before delivery.

Wonder who is to blame?
Sorry – been slackin lately so the analysis came late in comments. thanks to devin for callin me out :-)
Hah, I posted this: http://www.noenemies.com/another-problem-with-apple-software/ before you wrote this article. Maybe it has something to do with it. Other than blanking of iTunes, I really didn’t notice anything else.
UPDATE – Microsoft is now blaming Apple’s Quality Assurance for the iPod virus.

Haha, I’d love someone to keep me honest on my blog. ;-)
I read that, yes, one of Apple’s machines had the virus and naturally, nobody caught it.
Oh well! Easy enough to fix.
