cl1p.net Review

by Andy Brudtkuhl on April 12, 2006

cl1p is an internet clipboard, and that’s it. I really enjoy seeing tools like this that do one thing and one thing good.

Essentially cl1p does as advertised, but using quite an intuitive process. In order to create a cl1pboard, you enter cl1p.net/whateveryouwantyourpagetobecalled. Entering a URL creates your clipboard thus eliminating the first step. The only drawback to this is that clips are system wide rather than user-wide. So, I cannot have the same named clip as one that is already created. In fact, if someone has created the clip already and I enter the URL I see what they have put.

You also have the opportunity to upload files up to 2mb.

Two problems:

1. Clipboards should be unique to the user
2. Design

What’s good:

1. Verrrry simple
2. Good process
3. Works and needs no frills

What I want to see happen:
1. Cleaner design (email us)
2. Firefox extension – Highlight, Right Click, Post to cl1p
cl1p.net

my cl1pboard
