As I mentioned in my last post we have been quite busy. One of the things I mentioned was a design we are working on. And, now that it is live I want to announce the successful redesign of Megite.

I’ve been postponing writing about them until we were done doing the design. Now that I think about it, it now sounds biased. Oh well, it’s a great service.

I’ve written about tech.memeorandum before and Megite is a somewhat similar service. The differentiation factor for Megite is that it accepts OPML files from its users as sources to its aggregation. It then figures out who is talking about a specific post and also who else is talking about related content. Unlike memeorandum who covers only politics and tech, Megite covers: Technology, Business, Entertainment, Politics, Sports, Health, and Gossip. And each section syndicates its content so you can subscribe to what you are interested in.

The design was interesting because it was done all via Google Talk and Gmail. It’s also tough creating a wrapper for an application that you did not create which was a first for me. It was good working with Matthew and the Megite team. He is interested in design feedback as are we. If you have any ideas or complaints about the new design let Matthew know or let us know and we will disucss. There are still a few quirks to work out but I think our collaboration has made good progress and we hope to continue working with them.
