I just read a post from Joel Spolsky where he bashed ‘AJAX‘ calendar applications. For the most part I agree with him.

There are no notification features. C’mon, for an ‘ajax based web2.0 company’ you could at least implement RSS notifications. My problem with ‘web calendars’ is the inability to sync with my smart phone. This is an absolute ‘must have’ for my to convert. I also need it to sync with Exchange.

The idea is cool. And I won’t bash you as much as Joel because I know you are in a 1.0 release. But if you are going to convert a business person or hardcore geek you need some added features.

It’s a good start. Just remember you are trying to convert people to use a whole new process for a fundamental process people have grown accustomed to.

Other than that I really like 30 Boxes. It’s a very clean and functional user interface. The user experience is very intuitive. The idea is great. It solves a common real-life problem. When it expands features I will have no problem switching from Outlook, which I use solely for calendar.
