10 reasons for web standards

by Andy Brudtkuhl on December 7, 2005

tj showed me this article which sums up the need for using web standards as a web professional.

One thing he did not mention in his top ten was the fact that if you use web standards as a basis for a new development project, it will look much better! If you want to become a decent designer, you must learn web standards. It won’t matter if you are a Photoshop guru if you can’t put your graphics in an accessible spot.

Another thing he failed to mentioned is the enhancement of the user experience. If a user has an easy time using your site, there’s a far better chance he or she will return.
